Before they could go deeper into the land of Canaan, Jericho had to fall first.

In light of this, for us, this ancient city represents those things that are deep-rooted in our lives that prevent us from claiming our Divine Inheritance. These strongholds hinder our spiritual progress, hold us back in all areas of our life and block us from fully basking in the Sunlight of the Spirit. These strongholds can be addictions such as gambling, alcohol, pornography, sex, drugs or the like, or bitterness, greed, jealousy, unforgiveness, or any other negative lower natured emotion, behavior or issue. The city of Jericho may represent some habit we just can’t break because it is surrounded by Walls of weakness. Whatever it is, it is a stronghold and stands between us and what is ours by Divine Right.

Before we receive the totality of what the Divine has for us, like the walls of Jericho these strongholds must come down!
